Have you ever wanted to create your own superhero? Discover the world of comic book art as you learn how to tell fantastic stories through hand-drawn comics. We'll explore the who, what, when, where, and why of storytelling and learn some comic drawing techniques. A good comic book or graphic novel can leave one with a powerful experience because the time we read on the page draws us into the world of the narrative, beyond our real-time experience.
Students will learn:
- how to create their own comic book characters, story lines, and comic panels.
- how to use a variety of art and drawing techniques to help them bring their stories and characters to life
- how to apply traditional drawing and design principles to create dynamic visuals
- understand the basics of story structure and develop their own unique drawing style
