Register before March 31st! W5 -7/10-7/14/2023 - AM. Golf + PM. Little Wizards Science Experiments
AM. Golf
Golf is an incredible way to get some of our more athletically hesitant friends into sports! While friendly competition is encouraged, we are encouraging sportsmanship and socialization. We want to make new friends and reinforce established relationships. Golf may be low intensity, but it is a fantastic physical activity. Playing will strengthen core muscles which helps keep the spine healthy. Golf is also great for endurance and flexibility.
Students will learn:
- The fundamentals of Golf
- Proper use of equipment & course etiquette
- How to strategize
- To enjoy nature away from devices
- Good sportsmanship & fair play
PM. Little Wizards Science Experiments
This week features a variety of fun, fizzing, bubbling, foaming, and mysterious hands-on science and engineering activities that you can tie in with favorite stories about wizards and magic. With an engaging mix of chemistry, physics, electronics, and creative engineering activities, kids will have fun making things, mixing things, and generally practicing their awesome STEM wizardry.
Students will learn:
- about experimentation and the scientific process
- students should learn how to formulate a hypothesis, observe and measure changes, evaluate results, and draw conclusions.
- should also become familiar with common lab equipment and techniques, such as measuring with a graduated cylinder, heating and cooling with a Bunsen burner, and filtering through funnels
- learn to relate their findings to everyday life, exploring how science concepts can be used in practical applications.
