Mandarin: The Art of Food - A Bite of China.
Art: ​Kids will learn to conserve a healthy and simple lifestyle. For starters, remember to use organic tools as unusual as carrots or mushrooms to print, use leaves and berries as colors to paint, and use seeds or shells to decorate.

​Age 3 - 5    ART · MANDARIN CAMP · FIELD TRIP

The Art and Mandarin Camp program for children 3 - 5 years old consists of Mandarin Language Acquisition, Chinese Culture Enrichment, Chinese History and Art, Introduction to Chinese Advanced Technology, and Chinese Demography and Geography, all featured with Chinese Arts crafting, Hands-on activities or games. Plus, there is a Field Trip for every Friday ( caretakers and students ratio = 1:4 ). To provide a better environment for Second Language Acquisition, most instructions are in simple Mandarin sentences (English for explanation as needed). Also, we encourage students practice daily conversations in Mandarin as often as possible in such environment we build. Through this program, children will develop Beginner Communication skills (numbers, places, objects names, basic grammars in Mandarin Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening), and perhaps making an acquaintance with international-mindedness and multi-cultural awareness.

Mandarin: A Story of Traditional Chinese Printmaking. 
Art: Besides recreating Traditional Chinese Printmaking, students will design scenes, spaces, foreground, and background by the monoprinting method. They are going to experiment with various materials such as fruits, vegetables, old puzzles and safe tools as styrofoam to create prints and unique handmade cards with the monoprinting technique.

Mandarin: Provinces and Special Geography in China: Karst Landscape, Rice Terrace and Gobi Dessert and etc.
Art: In this class, we encourage kids to make art out of natural resources and nontoxic organic ink and paint pigments. To create natural art masterpiece this summer, paint brushes can be made of wood, leaves, flowers, and mixed with other objects found in the natural world.

Mandarin: Ancient 3D Art - Traditional Chinese Sugar Painting.
Art: A thought: children love music as much as they enjoy making things,  then why not making their own instrument so they can play with. After this class, kids will develop sculpting techniques and creativity by practicing molding and decorating clay sand castles, and by using wooden clothes pegs and paper to create dragonflies.

Art: Children will not only finish a variety of projects such as bowls, plates, cups, vases, and etc but also they will be introduced to the pottery wheel. Clay is a very special medium for it is easy to shape and transform. Clay making allows children develop motor skills and senses; follow rules and discipline; focus and solve problems.

Mandarin: National Treasures.
Art: Chinese brush painting has a history that can date back to thousands years ago. In this course, teachers will teach students how to find harmony between beings and nature. Students will develop both artistic and creative talents in visual art through lessons on Chinese landscape painting, flower-bird painting, and calligraphy. Practicing the ancient arts of Chinese Brush Painting, Calligraphy, students will also learn to create beautiful art pieces with traditional tools like the Chinese brush, mineral ink and rice/Xuan paper.

​Although children sometimes can be scared by the monsters and aliens in sci-fi movies, our previous history of art adventure shows that they enjoy recreating art with mysterious subjects like three-eyed aliens, Star War robots, Tyrannosaurus, and gorgeous sirens. Their imagination will be fully expressed with the help of a wide range of mediums: paper, watercolor, acrylic paint, clay, and etc.

​Fencing is the sport that trains one to be in control of his/her success or failure. It strengthens abilities as mental focus, hand-eye coordination, with extremely low injury rates. Partnership with Mid-South Fencers Club, we offer the exciting, dynamic Olympic and Paralympic sport of fencing for students ages 5 and up in the Research Triangle of North Carolina.

This course offers an overview of fashion design process combined with sewing workshops. Not only will students study fashion illustration, fashion design, and famous fashion designers and fashion history, but also learn to operate a sewing machine. Before producing a successful piece of fashion art, students will also learn expertise in fabric layout, pinning, and cutting, and they will work on hand sewing skills and crafts such as embroidery, weaving.​

​It is essential to understand how 3D printing is changing our life now, for which we design this course for young campers to experience 3D industrial design through step by step process. Campers will sketch ideas out on paper. Then, turn the sketches into a 3D model by 3D programs. Finally, with the help of 3D printing machine, students will bring their ideas to life and take them home at the end of the week.

Compare fingerprints and discover the mysteries of DNA as you fine-tune your secret agent skills. Make "brain goo" and check out your bones as your travel the organ trail. Explore the icky inside of your body and learn about the organ systems and the cells that compose them with an introduction to the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, skeletal, and muscular systems. Discover cool and yucky chemical reactions and how to solve a crime in this hands-on science adventure!

​Camper will learn to take fantastic pictures with a digital camera and your smartphone, free to choose your favorite subjects can be anything from landscapes or still life to any animal or human portraits. Learn to use Adobe Photoshop, using the photo you took and apply fine art techniques of color, line, and composition to digital paintings; students will also learn to create and manipulate brushes, use layers and other basic to advanced techniques.

​This week-long camp allows students to dive deeper into the fields of interior design, the camper study color theory, materials, floor plans, traditional and modern interior design style, architectural drawing, and digital media. This camp will give the student the knowledge of how design a room from floor to ceiling, how to transform plain living spaces into beautiful and functional rooms.

​In the camp, camper will be creating your own fashion sketches, design for men, woman kids, toddlers, shoes, handbags etc. Your designs will be in an industry standard format for manufacturers, no prior experience or drawing skills necessary, by the end of this camp, the camper will know how to create catalogs, line and technical sheets, portfolios, might use it to design your own clothing line or freelance design, and showcase your design to investors and buyers.

WEARABLE ART

​In this jewelry making camp, campers create a bracelet, earrings, necklace etc.  Campers will learn how to consider design, colors, texture, and shapes when designing their pieces.  Campers will first design their piece and then create it using hands-on methods from the awesome selection of materials.

​Every child has a story to tell about their community and the larger world around them. In this camp, the camper will produce their own original, creative stories, they will learn storyboarding, scriptwriting, cinematography, directing, edit audio and video. Digital storytelling is an excellent opportunity for children to explore themselves, the camper will build upon the confidence, community awareness and social skills, and gain experience in filmmaking and become exposed to the various career opportunities available in the film industry.
