Option1:

College Application Essay Writing (G9+)

  • Students will learn how to write an effective college application essay. They will explore strategies for exploring topics, organizing ideas, and using vivid language to craft an original and engaging essay. Through developing a personal story or narrative that illustrates their qualities, interests and strengths, students will gain insight into how to effectively present themselves to college admissions committees. Additionally, they will receive feedback from experienced instructors on their drafts so they can make appropriate revisions. By the end of the camp, students will feel confident in their ability to write a clear and compelling college essay.


Option2:

Beginning Screenwriting (G6+ )

  1. Fundamentals of storytelling. 
  2. Introduction to writing script formats and conventions. 
  3. How to create compelling characters and storylines. 
  4. The basics of visual storytelling. 
  5. Understanding the language and structure of a screenplay. 
  6. Developing your own voice as a screenwriter. 
  7. Elements of three-act structure. 
  8. What makes a great dialogue. 
  9. Tips for successfully pitching a script. 
  10. Setting up a screenplay for production.


PM:

Watercolor Painting (G6+)

Objectives:

  • Gain knowledge about the watercolor medium that will help them in future art lessons.
  • -Students will explore the medium of watercolor paints. 
  • Students will create watercolor painting techniques (wet-on-wet) and how to enhance that technique with salt, crayon resist and blotting. They will also reinforce their knowledge of color theory by color mixing and complimentary colors.
  • Experience and perceive the qualities of watercolor paints
  • Apply knowledge of color mixing
  • Experience the unique properties of watercolor paint

  • brushes (large & small)
  • watercolor paper
