AM. Narrative Story Telling

"Those who tell the stories, rule the world." Hopi Proverb. Sharing stories about ourselves is an essential part of self-expression. Narrative story-telling allows children to become more aware of their own identities, beliefs and values. Of course, they'll be learning about story elements and grammar rules. The goal of this class is for our writers to gain confidence in their writing and share their narratives in a supportive environment.

Students will learn:

  • You’ll gain increased writing skills
  • Learning how to structure a story
  • Gaining attention to detail
  • Studying style and clarity will help in all of your work
  • It will teach you more about other people
  • You’ll be able to better analyze books, plays, and movies

PM: Ukulele and Song Writing

Welcome to Camp Ukulele where we will learn the very basics of playing the instrument.

Younger students will learn how to hold and care for their ukulele, The names of the strings (and why they're in that order.)

Class concludes with a group performance in a local park.

Students will learn:

  • Rhythms: Patterns, groupings
  • Song writing: Reading, Vocabulary building, story telling
  • Fret and staff reading
