Fashion EXPERIMENTAL Intensive - (grade 9 - 12)
The High School Fashion Intensive program is designed for students in grades 9-12. Over the six-week course students will have 6 hours a day of coursework and studio time in which they will design and construct a cohesive line of wearables. Students will be introduced to historical and contemporary fashion designers/artists. - Explore methods that enable them to clearly communicate their ideas through 2D media and the development of a collection. Students learn to draw fashion figure proportion, movement, silhouettes, and details from live models enabling them to bring their design ideas to life.
- Gain a strong understanding and ability to implement a variety of sewing techniques and methods of garment construction.
- Explore the unique characteristics of a variety of materials and discover how materials and their uses shape meaning.
- Use their personal vision to develop a cohesive line of wearables that will be exhibited in the High School Intensive Runway Show.
